light , but shipments from this point continue
on a liberal scale and the cash demand for
shipment was again good , although buyers

The business done was chiefly of n local
scalping character and was not heavy In
amount. The foreign markets were quoted
easier.

general market was strong. It was dull , but
there was no desire to crowd sales , and
former prices were , as a rule , more than
maintained. October short ribs and October
nnd November lard were advanced 5c and
January pork , hua and short ribs " % c. No

up mostly of butchers' stock , feeders , stook-
crs , etc. The market wns about steady on
nil Kinds of rattle. Feeders sold qulto well ,
the demand being good nnd the supply fnlr.
The market on hops took nn upward turn
of 6lOoto ( dny nnd was nctivo nt the advance ,
ubout everything being sold out oarly. A
few loads which came in late after the orders
vcro filled would not sell at the morning's
) rices.
There were three cars of sheep hero to
