was rather bullish , especially that omlmitlng

patches came In that sales of fioin "j.OOO to

effected to the homo trade , and shortly be
fore the close John 11. UwiRlit's correspond-

accepting the ofTor of Uj.OOU barrels more ,
this of course being for export. Thu Minne

nml no satisfactory explanation has
yet been advanced. For some ma'-on ttio
cheap wheat at New York is not wanted ,
but the demand for the product of good
wheat is not abated.
Tlio continued swelling of the corn re

ilrcccdmg day's estimates had its effect upon
prices to their detriment , anil the lowest

the inquiry for export in Haltimoro
und Now York was said to bo good. Clear
ances were moderate from the Atlantic ports
and Now Orleans , but ocean treights were
firm and vessels scarce. Tlio opening Hgures
did not reveal the full extent of the weak
ness which prevailed , but as wheat began to

holders , and under the free offerings and the
liberal reali/Ing by the longs , the price
touched the lowest llgures jot reached.
There was a fair amount or activity on the
decline , but the low price having been struck ,
theio was less disposition to trade at the re
duced pi ices. The last few minutes
saw the very lowest point , fiom
which there was no i unction , and
the tlniil close was quite weak ,
and shows n loss of " ( jie'jjc ' | over the cutlro

In oats another liberal trade was recorded ,
