The market on beef cattle opened slow , the weather was very unfavorable , It being wet and i ainy and bu > era did not show any disposition to get down to business. It was afternoon before any beeves changed bunds and then at a decline of 10 ( 15c. Al though the market opened late a good many cattle changed hands before the close. The bulk of the beeves sold at a range of J3.13 & (3.70. ( The heaviest tiading was done in butchers' stock and the market on that kind of cattle opened caib Cows sold mostly lOc lower , and in some cases 15c lower , the bulk going nt$2 in 0(2.40 , with a few at Si 50C 2.75 The quality of tlie cows was quite good , although theio wei e some pretty common ones here. There was a good demand for feedeis , but theio weio very few here to 1111 it. What few there woie sold at n range of W.sOQt ) 3 03 , prices continuum about steady. A few trades weie made caily in the morning at prices .VxlOc lower , but al most immediately prices diopped down 10 ( < D 15c lower than yesterday , at which prices the hogs sold. Tlio decline was caused largely by the drop m eastern markets , Chicago cage repotting good hogs soiling nt $3.00. The trade wns not very aethc , salesmen being blow to part with the holdings at the prices. A veiy choice load of hogs sold at $ l..r , , but good hogs went at $ l.bUtf ( Si , and it icquired something very extfa to bring ft'JO. The maiket closed we ilc at the de cline with 13 loads unsold.
