fortunate young mnn was Eugene S. Allen ,
who has nlso quite a largo circle of friends
hero. The ceremony was performed nt the
Congregational church at high noon yester
day. The arrangements were unostentatious ,
modest , but elegant m their details. While
the friends were being soiled Miss Pitch
played several selections upon tlio organ ,
nnd on the entrance of the wedding party
gave the wedding march with pleasing effect.
The betrothed couple were accompanied by n
little brother of the bride , Thoron Jossolyn ,
and by tlio little niece of the trroom. Miss
Clara Allen. They bore ( lowers and the
lady wa3 dressed in white. The bride was
in her travelling suit. The ushers were Mr.
Atclnson , W. U. Somoi-3 , W. S. Homer and
Elmer Stacy.
The ceremony wfts performed by Rev. G.
CiofiS , who followed somewhat the Epis
copal ritual , the ring being used. After tlio
ceremony ut the church the Uriihil party
took carriages for the bride's homo , where
there was spread a very enjoyable collation ,
of which they and the immediate friends ,
witli the relatives , partook. Mr. and Mrs.
Allen left on last evening's train for Cort-
liuid , N , V. , ami after visiting friomiH for a
few weeks they will proceoa to Green Hay ,
Wis. , which will be thuir home. Mr. Allen
is : i civil engineer of much ability. The
young lady whom he lias tfoii has been a fa
vorite here , and her ninny friends part witli
her regretfully , but wisli for them both the
btightest of blessings.

Dec. 10 Throe actions brought
against ex-City Treasurer Axworthy of
Cleveland , O. , arising from banking dis
putes , were settled to-day in court. With
the sanction of the court Axworthy agreed
to pay 13,000 pounds and surrender his
piopoity in America in payment.
