The Pythian Tcniplo Subscription Hunted for. The suit brought m the district court last Saturday by Frank R. Wassurman against the Knights of Pythias Building association has caused a slight commotion among the members of the association. The plan In the organization of the associa tion was to Issue stock enough to raise the money for an elegant temple , which was to bo located on Farnam street near Nine teonth. Mr. Wnsscrman stated yesterday that the work on the building was to bo begun within three months after the raising of the subscription , and that ho had subscribed for $5,000 worth of stock and paid the first assess ment on the subscription and was now suing to have his money refunded. The grounds upon which ho bases his claims against the association are that they have not kept their agreement In regard to the work. Mr. David Kaufman , one of the ofllcers of the association when it was organized , was asked about the condition of the finances of the association , and stated that as the affairs of the organization were pri vate ho would not say anything about them. Ho knew the building had not been built , but ho did not know why. Ho thought Wassor- mnn was all right m trying to get back his money , but ho did not know why ho should want any money. Mr. Kaufman anticipates being a witness In the case now pending , and for that reason docs not "know anything. " Ho doesn't know how much money was col lected by the building association or what was done with It. Ho simply knows that there is such an association , that their af fairs are private , and that ho Is no longer nn oflleer of It. The Union Pacific is the only road running to the celebrated Clear Crock canyon in Colorado. THK 1)BKU OF A Uogo Cleveland Hrntnlly Assaulted By Hill Itevnlle. Uoforo leaving , however - over , she inquired of Mrs. Emmond.son whether she had learned anything about her watch. Mrs. Emmondson replied that she had not , but the girl went on to expiate on the affair , until the suspicions of Mrs. Em mondson were aroused. She concluded that Clara know more about the missing ticker than she would like to toll , but she said nothing and allowed the irlri to depart unmolested and secure in the belief that she was unsuspected. Mrs. Edmondson after the the girl's departure , however , wrote to the marshal at Huntsville , and after describing the watch related ttio circumstances of the robbery and her suspicions. Yesterday word was received that the matter had been looked up and that Miss Tolcsom was in possession of thn chronometer.
