in Omaha.
S. R. Pntton and .Tames W. Carr , of this
city , retained Thursday from Louisville ,
Ky. , where they have been attending the
mooting of the supicmo lodge , A. O. U. W.
The gentlemen went to the supicmo session
as representatives from this state. Their
object was to work in the interest of the
state during the meeting , and secure , if pos
sible , the meeting of the next session for
this city. This last named object they ac
complished after agool , hard light for the
plum with Uoston. The convention was one
of unusual interest , and accomplished a
great deal of woik and good for tlio order.
The mcctmgof the supreme lodge means the
assembling of all the chief ofllcei s of the older
and delegates from all the states and Canada.
There will bo about 200 persons hoio as dele
gates beside the largo number of people who
will be attracted here by the interest of tlio
meeting. The citizens of Omaha \\ill be
called upon to assist in the cntcitainmnt of
these guests and will no doubt show the gen
tlemen who secured this pure that tlieir
guests can be entei tamed as well in Omaha
as they could have been in Uoston.
