Artificial ISyes.
The sirtificiiil eye mini' ' in Portlnnil ,

the business. Ho saw it very often re
quired nn export to detect nn ( irtilical
eve , "I often hnvo n cuHtomcr como inhere
hero , look at my nrtifleinl oycs und talk
Bomctliinfr like this : 'Oh , yes , I ul-
wnys had an Idea that Mr. So-and-So
wore an artificial oyo. His is hazel ,
just like that ono in the corner. ' I find ,
ten chances to one , that if the porbon
referred to wears a glass eye at all , my
customer believes that the natural eye
is glass nnd the glass eye the ono
through which ho gotH his vision. I
Itnow n man who lived with his wlfo a
year before ho found out she wore a
glass oyo. Oh , yes , they turn just like
the human eye and in a number of in
stances possess moro flro and snap than
the actual ono. It is astonishing , the
number of Mnino people who wear these
goods. I fit lots of thorn in a wcok. Oh.
no , there is no pain about fitting them.
"People sometimes think they arc
going to ho killed , but it only makes
thorn laugh. I got 88 for a glass eye
and como under a contract to add to the
beauty of the physiognomy of my cus

I had littcd them with my goods , admir
