A Inrgo number of the Germans In Omaha Burned out yesteiday afternoon to attend the memorial exercises nt Gcriuanial hall In honor of the lute Kuiscr Wilhclm. The demonstration was conducted by the Con- cordla society und their president , Adolph Mayor , presided. In the mlddlo of the stage was a full-length , lifo-sizo portrait of the emperor , draped with crapo. On the right of this was the American ( lag and to tlio left the German banner draped with mourning. The opening exercises was the song , "Untor Allen Wipfcln 1st Uuh , " rendered by the Concordla chorus. After this the chairman Introduced tlio first speaker , Mr. Udo Bruehvogol. His speech , like all tbo other exercises , was in German. Ho divided the emperor's life Into three great epochs of thii ty \ ears each. The first epoch witnessed the humiliation of the Prussian army by Napoleon the Great. The second epoch , from the ago of thirty to sixty , wit nessed the sovuro discipline and trials that developed In Wilhclm these kingly traits that later distinguished him when ho were the crown. His military career in the cam paigns nguhiHt Denmark and Austria also prepared him forgroater triumphs. The last ' tblrty years , from sixty to ninety , were de R' voted to the unification of the empire and the elevation of German power. During these roars ha has also won nnd held the hearts of the German people. The empire ho has niado Is us grcut und ns powerful as that of CUnrlcinagno. The speaker was loudly ap plauded at the close of his address. , When the next sneaker , Mr. Fred Schnako , editor of the Tribune , was introduced , ho was given n round of applause before ho had yet said n word. His address was very IminCsslvo. At first Mr. Schnacko dwelt on the moro Important events of the cmpeior's , , llfo from boyhood to oxtrcino old ago , but * ' dwelt paitlculurlyon tlio great revolution of * 1643-19. In which states fought ugatnst him * * . that later became Ills loyal subjects.Vllholm Was not a great warrior or statesman , but ho possessed n genius as equally effective , the power of picking out such men as liismarck nnd Von Moltko us his advisers. The dead emperor was compared to Washington , and | f a great similarity in the work , churutcr anil * history of the two men were noted. Even the news of the death of each was received f. nllko with discredit throughout the civilized > ? world. Dr. Wackerow was next called out nnd in n few well chosen words pointed with pride to & , the dignity' ihnt King-William has given thor r German everywhere. I , , ' At the conclusion of his speech , on motion p , n committee of llvo was upi > olntcd to draft resolutions of respect. Messrs , U. H.
