[ Special Tclctrram to the BEE. ] The wheat market to-day broke over the limits whlcji 'have held It now for nearly a mohth. For dnco the expectation of n majority of local traders was realized and 'the market , which opened crlowcr than Sat urday's 'close , Immediately declined still further. The government report , with its 10JOOt)00 ( ) bushels more wheat in farmers' bands than at this time last year was the last , momentous straw of the.load which the bulls were carrying , and with Sunday Intervening ; in which to think it ovcr.lt appeared that a considerable number of. them were willing to lot go this morning. . However , there was no very heavy trading and at the decline * the .market was" well sustained. The shorts did a peed share of buying , plenty of them being found on this , as on all previous down turns , qulto willing to take their profits on May deals whenever that' delivery foil below 80c. May wheat opened n't 80 ( n80i o and after selling nt 80c straight , sold down to 79 reacted to SOc , then fell tp VOjtfe and after another slight reaction to 70 < 3f'Wc , which was the lowest point. Then there was another advance to SOc , and dur ing the latter part of the session the price held between TUjtfo and 7D c , closing nt 1 p. m. at 79J @ 79Xc. Juno wheat opened nt 60't'c , ' sold down to SOc and closed at 1 p. in. nt 60Vc. ' The heavy receipts of corn were too much for that market , and another decline was scored there. The trading was not heavy. It looked like a raid of bears at times , as there was frco short selling at about the low est point of the day. The grain was not without friends , however , and whenever the pressure wan relieved the marJcut seemed err.ing | back and fluctuations were lively. There was some unloading by longs , but evi dently not so much as the short sellers ex pected. May corn opened at 52 ? c , fell to 51c , and again advanced to 51)i6. ) In the next down turn 51 KO was touched and the market was held for sometime between that price and 51 e , tjien there was another ad vance to 51c , and the 1 o'clock closing was at 51J/C bid , Juno corn opened at 51 Ve , sold up to 62c , down to 51 @ 51j" " c , and closed at 1 o'clock nt BlXc. The speculative oat market was dujl and featureless. May oats opened at SlJ/c , sold down to to SKftyUjfc , and up to 31 > f @ 31 ? c , and closed , nt 1 o'clock at id. Jun oats opened at 81 Ji'c , sold down to 313l ? c. nnd closed at Slic&fllc. ( July oats closed at 30c , and that price was bid for them at tlio close. August oats opened and closed at 272/0 , and there was but ono other price , 27 % @ 2ijfc , on the split. It was a dull day in provision circles. There was little or no outside trading find barring a little buying of pork early by an eld time bear and a house supposed to represent a leader on the long side of the deal , the busi ness transacted on local account was barren of special feature. Dullness hold full con trol , and in short ribs and lord the fluctua tions were unimportant. Pork for May and Juno covered n range of 7 e in its move ment , and at 1 o'clock was < iuoted lOo lower than Saturday's closings. Short ribs and lard were unchanged to 2 } c lower. For May pork sold at $14.07K@1'U5 and closed nt$14.0"H' June future for pork was 2 } < c higher than May , resting at $14.10. Lard for May was steady at $7.70. and short ribs for the same month sold nt $7.25@7.27J4 , closing at $7.25 bid. Juno lard was 5c and Juno short . ribs 7 } c higher than May. March was nom inally lajjfc under May for pork , So under for lard and 74 ° under for short ribs. AFTEIINOON SESSION Wheat lower ; May May TO c. Juno 80o , July 80c. New England was the weakest stock on the list und broke % on selling by Boston parties , who said the com pany's finances \ycru in bad slmpo.
