4Iic. From yesterday's last ( inotatlons there
was recorded a break of IJfe on Septumbur
and May , and IJtfc on October. Corn sold

than It could bo had for at any

matured belief took possession ot the crowd

and 4rc tor May. The volume of trade to-day
was probably greater than any tiny stnco

over the San Francisco affair and the prospect

There was only moderate activity In the
market for oats and prices wore Irregular

the tecllng was vury weak , but at a frac
tional decline a better dcm.iiid prevailed and
thu recovery was about as rapid as the do-
cllnu had been.
In thu uiovislon trade a quiet state of af
fairs existed. In futures , as well as tn cash ,
property trading loaned to tlio slow orders.

supported , nnd for .short ribs for near deliv

yesterday. Aside from u few loads of butcher
stock there was nothing but range cattle In.
One bunch of 170 head of dressed betif steers
was received consigned direct to G. H. Hammond
mend A Co. A ftirt cows were sold , but
there was no demand for the range rattle and
they were re blppcd. Values reiaaluua itbont
steady. _
Hog * .
The receipts ot bogs were hardly up to
jesterday. A tew loads at the opening were
sold at about yesterday' * closing prices , hut
the market weakened Tory rapidly , 'Ilia
market closed fully ,10c lower than yester
day's close. There vras a demand tor all the
hogs ID at the price ? , but five loads were held
ever. The decline Is felt most se\orcly upon
light and light mixed and rough bogs. Hood
heuvy hogt Held up better and were In better
demand ,
There were a few sold.
