The provision traders had a slow day.
There vtas a little spurt of life dining the
morning In short ribs , occasioned by mod
erate outside buying for August and Septem
ber , but in the general trade there was no
marked or continued activity. Traders
of all classes were disinclined to branch

from reaching barely moderate volume , was
without special teatuio. 1'ork sold for June

for money between now and July 1 , took ad

Cattle.
The run ot catthi was heavier by 300 head
than yesterday. The market opened vrry
dull and slow with very llttlo Inclination
among the buyers to mtiKo any bids. A few
bunches of cattle were sold and at a decline
of about I5c.
The receipts were light to-day , theio being
a falling oil as compared with yesterday of
1100. Thninarket opened with light hogs In
very fair demand at steady prices , and they
were all taken at those prices oarlv In the
nay. Heavy hosrs were very slow all day at
a decline of fully 5c from yesterday's close.
A tew loads of heavy hogs were sold early
when Included In a stiIn. of light weights.
but the majority wure left until late , and
nine loads were unsold. The buyers prefer
the lluht hoxs to the heavy at the same price.
