Cattle.
The run of cattle was lighter than yester
day by COO head. The market wns not very
active and the buyers were inclined to hold
hack. The market was prolonged through
the whole day. The market was about 5c
lower than yesterday and In some cases lOc
lower. There were only M ) hea.t held over ,
the balance were cither sold or shipped out.

The receipts ot hogs were liberal but when
compared with yesterday show a falling oil
of 1,100 head. In addition to the fresh receipts
there were 1,700 hogs that had been held
over from the day before , mak
ing n total of nbout 5,200 hogs on
sale. The market opened nt a decline of 10@
15c from yesterday's prices. The bulk ot
the hops were snJ | nut by midday , and when
the buyers' orders were tilled ' .here still re
mained some 100 hogs unsold. In thu mid
dle of the afternoon bujers were not otlciing
within 20c or2. c of yesterday's maiket for
Die remaining loads , but just before sun
down they took all but about eUht lo.uls at
about the same prices as In the morning.

market.
A Chicago packer who is hero visiting tin
yards says he expects to see hogs selling a
4.00 by June.
