business was transacted , and there were more
scattering outside orders both ways than for

premium on June over Mav was reduced } { c ,

speculative olfurlnits. The eastern markets
were stronger , and nearly all of yesterday's

In provision circles there was no Improve
ment In the general situation. In the entire
trade the Indifferent feeling lately prevailing
was again exhibited , and In both cash and
futures the product of the day's business , all
told , was scarcely sufllnont to relieve the
market from positive dullness. Even In
short ribs and laru , which continue to mo
nopolize speculative Interest , there was no
animation to speak of , while the movement
again favored lower prices , liixsed on last
night's closing thu 1 o'clock quotations for
nhort ribs showed a decline of TJ o and for

blocky Nebraskans that made a sbadn rnoro
money than yesterday ; but the general run
of ordinary fat cattle went out at about yes

was booming to-day. All the high priced
stocks wore active and many of them touched

the bell cords. Northwestern moved up
sharply on Heavy buying by western oper :
ators , and the sentiment at Chicago ami else
vhero was represented to bo very strongly
bullish. The old Jones and Ueam following
wcro largo buyers ot Omaha stocks again ,
and the talk was that they were In for a big
bummer bull campaign. The story was cur
f rent that the i'ullman panv would issue
a bonus to the stockholders at the coming
annual meeting consisting of 5 per cent

The story was that a syndicate had been

.V Ohio road would bo controlled In the inter
est of Itlchinond Terminal and that the tele
