General Erinbin for the Bee- FROM 1001 TO 1000 INCLUSIVE IntercMliiR Military Information Wltcn Army Ofllrers of nil Urnnolios oftlic Service tt'lll 1)i ! Kxuunctt from Duty. TOUT HoiiiNSOx. Neb. , March ! . To Iho Killtor of the BKE : The list of retire ments wns not forthcoming nt the dnto niiiucd us no dottht many of your reader * who nro interested in such matters ob served. It was simply impossible to not thu matter together nml have it corrected in time. It i * now however , cotnnleto ami ono year beyond the time promised. Tim list promised was from 1001 to 1005 , nnd you will perceive that the present list inclosed herewith is from 11)01 ) to 1UOO inclusive. The reason for this change is that I had intended publishing a list of retirements which would take place after 1905 , but I shall not now do so. No retirement list nftcr 1000 would be of any value. It is hard to tell who will bo alive in 11)10 ) or 1020 , and no doubt the casualties from death and other causes will far exceed those from retirements. No retirement list beyond 1900 or 11)00 ) is therefore valuable , i have the retire ments ut ) to 101)7 ) , though the list is not by any means complete , I may or I may not publish it some day , but the retire ments from 1887 to 1'JOO I think are all liny ono will wish to have and those have now all been published in the HER. The following retirements take place in ( hi ! army between January 1,11)01 ) , and December 31,1000 : ItKTIllEMRXTR , 1901. Major Win. Al. Maynadler , pay depart ment , .January ? . A Dayton correspondent of the Scienti fic American gives the details of a re markable runaway of a locomotive. Engine - gino 97 was slowly backing around a curve when a train was sighted. The en gineer of 27 reversed his cngino and tnrow her wide open , in hone of getting her out of the way , but was too Into , and the engine , coming down , crashed into thu other , steve in the rear end of the tender and broke the tender loose from the engine whoso throttle valve Imd been thrown wide open. The mon jumped to Rave their lives , and the engine proper , not being hurt , started forward nt a frightful speed , tearing down tlm mum track toward the union depot at the rate of about lifty-live orbixty miles an hour. When she struck Sixth street shn jumped the track nnd ran along on the ground , breaking the heavy steel mils nnd knock ing oir five switch .standards , tinally llnding her way to tl -depot , wlicro she stopped. < d MOST PERFICT MADE tni wfth ( Met ngud toPurity , Strength , Dr. Fritt'e Btklos PowdM cent ain * 'JO-HE" The above It the name of a MAGNETIC OIL , which Hews from the rock in Texas and that , 1 confidently believe possesses more KEAL MERIT AS A CURATIVE than ALL OTHER REMEDIES.
