The Week. Monday , Jan. 31 , The receipts of cattle have been light dur ing the week , the total receipts amounting to only 2,200. Of this number the greater pait were sold here , only a very few being ship ped. The demand has been good the greater part of the week and the market active. During the lirst half of the week the market was tinning up , but dmlng. the latter half it glow weaker and lower. The receipts of hogs during the week amounted to 1 ! > ,200. all of which were sold and slaitgliteied hero. The market was active all the week. The week opened with 4.75 as the top lor tlio best heavy hogs. On Wednesday there was a decline of 5o , fol lowed by an advance of lOe on Thursday , which prices held up for the rest of the week. One of the features of the wetlc was the bet ter demand for light hoes. C'nttlc. The receipts of cattle wore fair for thn first of thu week but them was very little life In the market.
