The Week.
The receipts of cattle have been liberal
during the past week as compared with the
weeks preceding. The market opened lirm
nt the beginning of the week , nnd continued
so until Wednesday , when there was a sharp
decline of 10jdl5c ( , owing largely to the with
drawal of ( ! . A. Hammond & Co. from the
market. On Thursday the decline was very
nearly recovered , but there was a , still
further decline on Friday , on common cattle ,
of lOc. The week closed with prices n llttlo
stronger.
The hoe market opened the flrst of the
week with heavy hogs selling at § 1.55(31.CM ( ,
mixed , S4.5U ( . I. < X ) ; 11 Jit , S4.K@I.50. : On
Tuesday the market waslully lOc lower and
continued about steady on the tliy following.
On Thursday the decline was more than ry-
gnlued , thetu being an advance of 15e , which
prices were maintained until the close of
the week.
Sheep have been dull all the week and
only one load has been reported sold.
