inside was suspended over the altar. At
7 o'clock Miss Nannie Clayton began
Mendelssohn's inarch , and the young
couple , prcccdetl by two bridesmaids ,
Juiss Annie Dunham and Miss Florence
Clayton , entered the church and wore
made one by an impressive ceremony
pronounced by the Uov. Dr. Koy. After
ward a large reception was held in honor
ol the newly wedded pair , nt the home of
Mr. and Mrs. J , A. Wakoliuld on upper
Farnain. 'J ho brldn was arrayed in a
inagnllicent dress of heavy cream satin
with court train ; the front was cov
ered with imported lisse richly em
broidered. The corsage was low , lillwl
in with gathered tulle , tlio upper part
of the .sleovu was open and pulled with
Illusion while numerous sued pearl orna
ments added a litiish. Diamond jewelry ,
a gift from the groom , completed the
toilet with tlio exception of the conven
tional veil. Miss Dunham , the lirst
bridesmaid , wore n white surah with
court train , ono bide of the bkirt being
trimmed with cascades of lauo and the
front and side covered with pearl orna
ments. The cor.sr.go was sleeveless nnd
square , finished with pearls. Miss Clayton -
ton wore u cream stirali with court train ,
and pleated skirt with panels of plush.
The corsage was square-edged with
pearls. The bridesmaids earned bou
quets of crimson roses , nnd the bride
white roses. The others who assisted in

heliotrope trained dress with combina
tion of pearl plush polka dots. The pet
ticoat was pale pink satin with pearl
pendants , sleeveless and square coinage
with pearl epaulettes nml Kli/.abothan
collar ; diamonds. Airs. Troxell wore : i
Wine silk , en train , with pearl ami wine-
striped front and panels , square corsage
lilted in with point lace ; diamonds. Mrs.
Van Kuran wore a very pretty cream
rhadamus with straight-back draperies ,
pleated front , and panels of striped blue
nnd cream plush , Lluabeth collar , pearl
jewelry. Airs. Brady wore while albatross
tress with oriental lace front. Alisa May
Perry was pretty in n cream albatross
with embroidered panels ami gnipuro
lace sleeves and yoke. Little Jeanne
Wnkelleld , tlio charming four-year-old
daughter of the hostess , looked bewitch
ing in a nuaint Greenaway costume of
white embroidered cashmere with plush
voice and sleeves and plush pom-poms.

Tlio house presented a very attractive
appearance with its smihtx-fe&tooncd
doorwajs and chandeliers , and lovely
baskets of ( lowers. The table was ex
ceptionally striking with Its iced cakes

[ of pink and blue were also placed at each
f corner of the table. The menu was pro
nounced the finest that has been served
here , and must bo credited to Airs.
Sparks , of St. Joo. It included various
Haliuls , chicken , terrapin , pickles , olives ,
beaten biscuit , coffee and neaselrodo pud
ding , and coeoannt , caramel , fig , almond.
fruit and nut cakes.
The Musical Union orchestra , played

groom is well-known In Nebraska , being

the objects of a pleasant surprise Friday
evening. The occasion was the lifth an

Alollie Morrison , of Wichita , Kansas , in
whoso honor the affair was given , assisted
in welcoming the guests.
Oyster Supper.
Last night the members ot the Home
Circle club drove out to Dave Redman's
homo near Irvington and celebrated tlio
wooden wedding of their host witli a hoi ) ,
followed by an oyster simper. About
thirty couples wore present and a good
time was enjoyed.

Aliss Itrodt lias a newly organized class
devoted to the study of perspective.
Airs. Dr. Sprague is laboring with still
life objects with encouraging results.
Airs. J. A. Garlick is painting an ad
mirable study of tulips on gruimd glass ,
to bo framed in hammered silver.
Air Evans , with Dewey & Stone , has
been very successful with repousse , and
owns some very handsome specimens of
the art.
Aliss Slmlze's clashes are doing good
work in crayon and India ink. Miss
Kelly shows n creditable figure lai.dscapo
in black and white.
Aliss Ross is teaching n class in water
colors at Airs. A. P. Hopkins on Park
avenue. A handsome frame in repousse

A pretty bit of stained glass is in Airs.
J. A. Wakeliold'.s house. A bust picture
of her little daughter is done in sepia tints
in tlio center ol the pane , and the sur
rounding colors nio as rich as possible.
Miss Rich , a young girl in Sotttli
Omaha , has painted two creditable fruit
pieces that tire now at Hospn's. One has
a glass disli lilted with rlnsters of purple
and reddish grapes and on the other can
vas pouches are painted true to nature.
Aliss Wilnwsor displays great aptitude
in her still life studio ) in oil. Her last
piece is a pair of kid jjlovos , ti half
transparent handkerchief and iv pair of
opera glasses , showing opal tints , lying
on a ciimson draped table.
Collins &Slmntz have added much to
their already enviable reputation by a
recent portrait of Airs. G. Al. Hitchcock.
Another picture that is commendable for
its finish , as well as its faithfulness to the
original , is that of E. L. Biorbower.
Conrad Heyd , of Milwaukee , is in
Omaha with a view to open a studio

over visited Omaha , and his poi traits
that were exhibited at tlio exposition will
bo remembered as a marvel of detail.
Air. Hoyd lias been classified by the Alii-
waukeo press as a natural curiosity because -
cause his pictures were inevitably turned
to the wall before a reporter was ad
mitted. _
