active and strong. The demand was good
lor corn-fed btceis anil for good fnt and well
matured cows nnd heifers and all such sold
rnaiitly. Thin and half fat stuff. Is ncKlccted.
Nearly everything was sold belore Iho mar-
kol closed.

The receipts were heavier than for several
days pa1- ! . The market opened about steady
with jesterday's pi ices and n fnw loads wern
sold on that basis. Later , when It became
Known how maliy tliero were In. the buyers
hold back and would only hid pi Ices that
were a strong 15e below yesterday. The sales
men , for the most part , held on nud would
not sell at the prices ollered , conseuupntly
veiy little was done until about 5 o'clock p.
m. , when they cut loose and the majority of
the IIORS remaining in the puns wem sold.
The mnrket closed about lOc lower than the
opening.
