Tlie leeelpts of cattle have been heavier during the past week than for some time. On Wednesday they readied the hlchest point (1100) ( ) for several weeks. The market opened at the beginning of the week lirm and active nnd everything was sold that came In. On Wednesday tliero was a sharp decline owing to the lower markets In the east and to the heavy run of stock. On Thursday it was still lower but active. On Friday much of the loss was letralned. Thn market on Satur day was bare of fresh receipts and Ihere was accoidlitKly very little done. The hog niaikct opened at the beginning of thu week with an advance of about lOc over the closing pi ices ot the week before. Hogs sold all the way from S4.40i4.CO. On Wednesday there was a decline of a strong lOc followed by a similar decline on Thurs day. On Fiiilay and Saturday thu market advanced and thu week closed with heirs selling 5c higher than at the beginning ot the week. There has been nothing doing In the sheep market this week.
