The funeral of the late K. B. Carter ,
who tllcil Saturday morning , took place
yesterday afternoon from Alnsonlo Imll ,
under the auspices of the Masonio
lodges , of which tlio deceased was n
inomhor. St. John's lodcd was repro-
sontcd bv about 2JO members , headed by
ho master , Fred W. 15oth\Vick. Mt.
Calvor.v commandcry , headed by G. W.
Lining ? ! ' , commander ; ( itisUv Andurson ,

members , Ilov. W. 13. Copuland
preached a beautiful sermon * eulogistic
of tlio deceased , After the services in
tlio hull the remains worn viewed by the
friends and fellow Magofos of tlio do-
cuasuil. Thu coffin reslcij. on a cata
falque covered with u. rare profusion of
flowers , while the casket itself was all
but hidden from view by ( ho llornl
wreaths ami emblems strewn over its
surface.
Tlio funeral cortege was ono , ° f ! no
most Imposing overseen in Ilio city. Fol
lowing tlio hearse p.imo tlio Union 1'nclllc
band , whluh discoursed sweet and solemn
music on thu way to the ijrnvo. Then
eatiio the members of Mt. Cavalry com-
mandery and of St. John's lodge ? There
after was a train of carriages which
reached from Capital avenue' to Cuniing
street.
At the grave tlio burial services wcro
conducted by Mr. Itothwick , according
to the solemn and impressive rites of thu
Masonic order. Thu pall-bourors were
chosen from among the intimate Mason-
friends of Mr. Carter , and were M. Parr ,
Henry Shivers , M. 6. Maul. II. W. Mo-
Akron , J. 1C. Coulter and C. I * . Necdham.
Mr. Carter was u man who was re-
snected and looked up to by all who
know him n man , too. whose ( character
challenged tlio admiration of all , no matter -
tor from what point it was looked at. As
a Mason ho stood very high in the fra
ternity ranks of the city < lie was high
priest of Mt. Cavalry cohimamlery and
prelate of St. John's Jodgq , Omaha chap
ter , as well as king of the g-and chapter
of the state. Ho was also remarkably
advanced in the Scottish rite.
