Tne main causes for the depression are a
steady decrease In the visible and a total

The receipts for tbu week thus far are lighter
than lust week. There was n better feeling
in the market to-day ami all desirable grades
sold at stronger prices during a portion of
the day. Hut buyers were nut willing to pay
the prices asked by salesmen , and the market
was quiet and weak In the after part of the
day. The market closed quiet and dull ,
and some coed heavy cattle sold
lower. The eastern demand for cattle Thuts-
day absorbed about 4,000 head , and country
farmers took nearly 003 for fattening pur
poses. During the last few weeks Now
York , Boston , Baltimore , Philadelphia ,

days as a train boy were at an end. A

kee road.
Weaker and weaker he became. The
nurse and phyfcician watched beside his
couch. His brow was covered with the
dew of death. His last "run" on earth
was soon to end.

They bathed his brow , these strangers
the nurse and the physician , and lis
tened to his strange words.
