Cattle. The mat ket was a little better to
day. Tlio iccelpt1 * were heavy , but were
mostly raiiL'e steers. A low cows and butcb-
cib' stulf changed hands.
Hogs. The hog market was lower to-day
but was active at tlio decline. The receipts
wcie heavier than they have been for some
time. The decline was evidently duo to the
fact that pi ices have been too high for sev
eral diivs when eompaied with eastern mar
kets. The demand was good and in suite of
the large tecelpts the pens were cleared early
in the day.
