board of public lauds and buildings ,

that the governor alone has the appoint

Jacob Hoche , the republican candidate
for treasurer of this county , met with
what might have been a serious accident.
HIH larm hand oiled his buggy prior to
Mr. Koche leaving his home at Hickman
a day or two ago , and in putting the burr
on one of the wheels failed to secure it
siilbciently tight to one of the axles. The
result was that the wheel came oil' , the
team ran away and totally demolished
the buggy. Mr. U. escaped with n few
bruises. Mr. H. informed a reporter to
day that his mother was very ill and at
the time of the accident ho was on h s
way to secure the modieal servioes of Dr.
