Stocks Stocks were again quite active thii
forenoon but after midday became quite dul
again , prices being irregular. In eatly deal
ings there was a small rally and then a gen
cral decline , which continued with compara
lively largo piles Into midday. The dcclim
ranged from g@ o during the afternoon on
light trading and the market continued to
exhibit a very strong undertone without any
material advance until the last hour , when
there was a spurt of activity , accompanied by
a decided upward movement. Gains in a few
moments ranging from i@ic. Before the close ,
however , dullness and strength without any
material advince was the rule and the market
closed irregular , but rather heavy for the mv
iority ol the list.
