Thursday Evening , April 23 , )
The following prices are charged retailers
by jobbers , wholesale and commission mer
chants with the exception of grain , which is
quoted at the prices furnished by the eleva
tors and other local buyers :
General Produce
Eggs Have been steady and firm all the
week at lie , and no material change antici
pated for the near future. Indications now
point towards low prices all summer. Re
ceipts , while qnlte liberal , are not at all in
oxceEB of ttocK , and there la no trouble in
moving stock.
Butter Receipts continue light and are of
the lower grades mostly , while choice and
good table butter remains very scarce. The
warm weather of the last few days shows a
bad effect on butter shipments , a good many
packages arriving with rolls all run together
and forming ono lump. Creamery , 22@25c ;
fair to good , 13@14c ; choice dairy , 15@17c ;
inferior grades , 8@10o.
5 Poultry The season for "dressed" poultry
for Ihu market is about over , thn warm
weather making it unsafe to ship. For tur-
keyp , ducks and geese there is but very little
demand , while chickens ore in strong request ,
both old and spring. Spring chickens , fair
size , per doz , G 00 ; old chickens , according to
weight and quality , per doz , 3 504 00.
Game Only very little doing. Ducks ore
in good demand , but scarce , Snipe plentiful.
Geese dull. Ducks , mallard , per doz , 2 00@
2 50 ; ducks , teal and mixed , per doz , 1 50@
2 00 ; geese , per doz , 2 50@3 00 ; enipe , per

Onions Scarce and good stock will bring
2 00 per bushel.
Beans In fair supply and demand moder
ate. Navy , per bushel , 1 60(5)1 ) 60 ; medium ,
per bushel , I 30 1 40.
Potatoes Receipts are light and demand
brisk. Good stock , regardless of variety ,
brought 60c per bushel , and choice would go
5c higher.
