Stocks Dull and very irregular. At the
opening prices showed slight gains in quota
tions oTcr the final figures of last evening , but
a doo. SQ net in almost immediately thereafter ,
and most stocks continued weak until early In
the afternoon. An upward movement in
grangers , which began about 1 o'clock , was
followed by a general imptoremont in the
whole list , and the market continued strong ,
bat dull , till the close , which waa at or near
the best prices for Gould stacks anrl grangers ,
bat considerably lower for Vanderbilts and
ooal stocks.
