TIIADE REVIEW.
The spring trade has about commenced and
the outlook it very promising.
The trade in the city during the past neck
hai bean fairly active , and but few chancres of
particular note are chronicled.
Gram has kept pace with board of trade
prices In Chicago. Flour and millstufls h.ive
declined slightly.
The prices of cattle and bogs have not un
dorgnae any very material change , and the
average supply boa been received.
There have been few changes In the general
provision market , and egga hare got down to
such prices that they are within the reach of
all imrsos , and there will be no dearth for the
Kaitor morn breakfast.
Tha best grades of butter tcadily command
Hood prices , poultry is plenty , and game Is In
active demand.
; Groceries continue at nbout the simo prices.
The lumbar market is active and un
changed.
The hardware trodo is briak.
Hides and leather continue the same as laat
week.
The dry gooda men report that in some
staples the prices have declined ,
Drugs , paints and oils have not changed
t'.nca last week ,
The following prices are charged retailers
by jobbers , wholesale nnd commission mer
chants with the exception of grain , which is
quoted at the prlcas famished by the eleva
tors and other local buyers ;

General Produce
Kzgs llocelpts are increasing daily , nnd
while shipping demand has so far been heavy
enough to prevent accumulation , buyers are
inclined , as is but natural on a weak and de
clining market , to limit their purchases to im-
nedlate wants , and take their chances of buy-
ng lower the next day. Eastern markets
lave all dropped considerable , and are re
ported to be decidedly weak , and orders for
.hese are limited to low prices.
Tha ruling price for tlic last two days has
jscn 12 2. but Bomn houses have offered and
Bold at llllc , and although this little dif
'ureuco dooa not increase consumption any , it
will make sales somewhat easier , especially In
job lots , and we expect that this price will
Imve to bo met and made general before tha'day
is mer. The future of the egg market is ut
