The first prices were generally i@fl per cent higher than the close lost evening , but on a further slight advance , traders realized to such an extent that a re action was brought about. This waj followed by a recovery , and the market continued strong until between 1 and 2 o'clock , showing gains of 1@2 per cent. In the last hour it was decided to break , during which the ad vance was entirely lost in most cases , and the market closed weak , at a decline.
