The continued cold weather 1ms made the coal trade the liveliest in the city , and notwithstanding the large demand , prices have not advanced any , either in hard or soft coal. Lumber is com mencing to inovo a Httlo and prices have ruled about the same as du.ing the entlro winter. Owing to the fact that the eastern roads have been blocked with .snow , it has baen impossible to ship grain from this mar ket , and the elevators luvo been filled to overflowing , ( Iraiu has been held back in the country , making the receipts for the past weak much lighter than during the proceed ing weak , Prices on grain have advanced slightly on nil kinds of grain except wheat and barley. In barley there Is nothing doing and the price of wheat has declined vcrj little , I'oultry has been rather quiet during the past week ; the receipts have been quite moderate , and in chicken * and ducks the sup ply has fallen short of the demand , Piices continue lir.-n. In egg tha supply is greater and the price has fallen off considerably nnd they have boon sold during the past week nt from 22 to 24 ccnti per dozen. A few pota toes have been rceshcd.but nearly all of them have shown frojt and 40 cents was the highest price paid. The receipts of butter have been very light , nlthough the market han been good and prices firm. The receipts of hogs during the past week were nbt ns heavy as daring the prEceedlng week. The prices paid were higher nnd all stock received sold.
