that no money will bo thrown away upon

on the state treasury.

then , when they have hired a small boy to do

misconstrued by the Omaha Republican

sional licconl , pages 828 and 829 , Jan

"In Kansas and Nebr.uk * fifty bushels

coal ; one hundred and fifty bushels will
not buy ono ton of hard coal. "
It will bo seen by a little figuring ,

and reproduced above , that Senator Van
Wyck know what ho was talking about.
Wo know that last fall corn sold in some
places as low as 8 cents a
bushel. Now corn sells tbo lowest
at interior points , and at those same

interior towns , would swallow up 150
bushels of corn at eight cents a bushel ,
anil it would require eighty-seven ai d
ono-half bushels of corn at the same
price to buy n ton of Wyoming soft coal

live longer than bachelors , and it is now
claimed that the discovery has boon made
that matrimony is to a great extent a

Weekly Bulletin and' . Municipal
Statistician has compiled a table , show
ing that out of 1,043 cholera deaths ,
which was the ratio per 100,000 of iho
male sex , 1,333 wore single , and only
310 married. The proportion of deaths ,
taking the whole range of ages from |

unmarried men to one married.
