J to 2i par cent , Coalefs weakest. Outside
those stock ) the decline was merely fractional.
Before 11 a , in. t ie market began to Improve
and under the leadership of the St. Paul
prices moved up } to Ijj per cent , but 'still
later thera was considerable Irregularity nnd
the advance was partially lost. Near the
close there was a brisk demand for Grangers
and Lackawannn. Prices advanced J to 2jj
percent from thu lowest point of the day.
The market left oil strong. The strength of
the Grangers was duo to an advance m wheat.
> It was again reported from the west that the
movement of grain and corn was assuming
largo proportions , Compared with Saturday's
closing , prlcoa are J to 2i per cent higher , ex
cept Canadian Pasific , Noithern Pacific pre
ferred , and Dalawara and Hudson , which are
J to Ijj per cent lower. In the money market
to-day Horn silver sold at 52 80@2 85 nnd
standard at GOc.
