brought the Crimean war to n conclusion
llussia was forbidden to attempt the refortification -
fortification of Sobaatopol , nud na n consequence -

the inarm of crumbling ruins to which it

nhcll. Upon the outbreak , however , of
the Franco-Gorman war , llussia saw her
opportunity to rolognto to n duoty nnd

tered tenements were pulled down , and

Thus resurrected from the dead , it haa

This gives it at once n great advantage

of time Sebastopol will now oust Odessa

natural advantages of its harbor
