This suit was brought over a car ago to obtain a judgment for $7,000 in certain coupons and accumulated In- orcst on § 30,000 of bond's issued by Cuarnoy precinct in tlut county in 18"H. t appears that thcso bonds wcro issued nr Iho purpose of building a bridge across the Platte river at Kearney. The ontract for its construction was lot to ho King bridge company , which brforo ho bridge was completed obtained pos- oaalrm of the bonds and hypothicntod hem as collateral with plalntill to BO * uro u debt. The King bridge company icvor completed its contract. The defense set up by the county is hat the $30,000 bonds was In excess of lie per cent allowed by Ian- and are there- ore void , and that as the King bridge company illegally obtained possession of hum , the plalntitr knowing that fuel was not an innocent purchaser.
