The cases were argued nt length and authorities cited , after which the judge took the cases under advise ment , the points raised being new onus , and the importance of the matter justify ing careful thought nnd oxauiina tion. It was thought by some that Judge Lyman would put oil rendering a decision until after tlio com * ing election in which ho is so much in terested , but he forced the ticklish ques tion yesterday , giving as his decision that the injunction asked for shall not bo granted. His chief reasons for refusing the in junction were two , ono because of defects in the petition , the other because of the unconstitutiouality of the proceeding.
