Captain Hayes has returncdjfrom Ains

house block , having purchased Harry
Hatch's place. During his residence
in Ainsworth Captain Hayes hna boon
the city marshal of that place , and

now has an elegant gold badge , presentee
to him by the citizens. Ho has no loss

The number of claimants for a share
in the $1,000 reward for the capture of
Reynolds , the Marshalltown desperado ,
are multiplying so that oftioors Hurley
and Towns , who caught the man , decided
yesterday to divide up the pot before anymore
moro claimants could bo hoard from , as
another week would bring them Into
hopeless bankruptcy. According to the
written agreement in Mayor Vauglinn's
safe , the chef-of-polico ! is to have ono-
third because ho received the postal card

nolds. The mayor is of course entitled
to something , because if ho had not
appointed Uuiloy and Towns on the
force they would not have got the man.
The two railway men who pointed out
Reynolds as a suspicious character , the

the city jail over nicht ; , "his brother , "
who is turnkey , the newspapers which
published accounts of Reynolds , the
good old woman without whom Reynolds
