Neither of those clubs belongs - longs to on association or league and the consequence was that both played ball with an energy that far exceeded that displayed by the St. Louis Browns or the Chicago Reserves in their games hero. The interest in the game was also increased on the part of the Union Pacifies by their extreme dcsiro lo defeat the nine of their old mana gor. Manager McKolvy presented Sails bury and Dugan nt the battery for the homo team , Voach , the "pony" pitcher , and Decker filling these positions for the visiting team. This concluded the run-getting for this innings , the score being a tie. In the tenth innings Decker bad reached third when Voach hit a high - fly to Smooct who captured it , putting the ball to Duggan after Decker had croasoc the homo pinto. The umpire decided ho had not touched fourth base and upon being touched was declared out , onaiiif the innings.
