PUNOH WITH MORE OARE , A Street KnlhvAy Cnr Snmslicil by Train nt the IJronilway Orossliiff. Yoslordny morning there was n nnrrow escape from n serious accident nt the Northwestern railway crossing on Broad way , a stroot-cnr cnmo along nnd the driver being signaled by the flagman , that all was right , wont right along , and just as ho wns crossing the track the street car got off the rail , and the horses were unable to pull it out of the way of n freight train which wns backing down nt the timo. The passengers skipped out of the car , so that there was only ono Inside the car when the freight train struck it. The car was badly wrecked , but luckily there was time for all to escape , except this ono lady. This wns Mrs. Jr. Kohlor , n widow who lives on the corner of Fourth nvonuo nnd Seventeenth street. Ilor oft sldo wns injured quito badly. Had the car not gone oil' the track , there would have bcon plenty of time to have got out of the way of the train. The ilagmnu in giving the signal for the atroot car to como along , did what has boon the custom for n long timo. There is so much switching going on there that hero are earn moving backward nnd for ward most of the time , nnd when it was ordered that thoro' would bo time for ( root cars to paas , they hnvo boon sig nalled to do so oven when trains were ecu to bo approaching. The accident may stir both the strcot car nd the railway companies to have their imployoa use moro caution , nnd they nay well congratulate themselves on otting out of it with n pecuniary loss of about § 100 , instead of having passengers wounded or killnd. it OATHJE IN COIjORAO. Oat are cheap and can bo procured in the ; ground condition or ai whole grains. Add to each quart of the mixture a tablespoonful cf gingora tablespoonful - spoonful of pepper , copperas and salt. add half a cup of linseed meal , half cup ground f boiio nnd half a cup of oys shells. Mix with milk or hot water , food it to the adult fowls in the morniti . At night give wholegrains. It not necessary to feed adult fowls nt nooni , unless it bo green stuff. A little should bo given with the so'ft food whenever It can bo done , but the milk , linseed meal and oat meal are good substitutes stitutcf , as they contain nitrogen largely. JBXCITIOMKNT.
