further fallursa in the dry poods trade , and as
the day advanced , became buoyant. There
were heavy purchases by prominent operators
and brokers , and a reported increase of orders
from the smaller class traders , The crop sit
uation is still the chief topic of discussion ,
nnd the favorable character of advices from
the grain growing regions was the principal
factor in speculation on the stock exchange.
The Increased export demand for cereals and
the falling off in the visible supply have
added to the bullish feeling ; also dispatches to
the effect that the Union Pacific earnings are
improving and that the land sales are enor
mous , The improvement iu prices ranged
