Franklin is on the boom. A § 30,001

Dr. McClollaml , of California , has lo
catcd in Franklin. There are already
two doctors in the burg , but the third is
welcome.
Mr. J. F. Xcdikor has gone east on
business trip in which ho will take in the
national convention at Chicago.
Wikland it Swanson have their brick
yard in operation so ns to supply the in
creasing demand.
Two of Franklin's merchants wi'l ' , in
the near future , erect n two story brick
block -18x80. This will add much to the
beauty of our city.
The grist mill run by Rico , Garrett
Co. , is turning out about two tons ol
llour a day. This is big for a village of
Franklin's size.
Franklin has one of the best croamo
rics in the Republican valley , under the
managomant of II , 0. Manning , the
"boss" butter maker of the valley , lie
hiirns about 2,000 Ibs. aveok. .
No clue na yet can bo obtained of who
the guilty party was that did the robbing
Df the depot a few weeks ago.
Carpenter & Ilovoy have enclosed
heir line hotel , which is 20x50 , with an
ill , which when completed will bo a
ory compdious building.
Franklin is to have a now depot in the
icar future , because the present one is
tot sufliciont to hold the freight that is
.hipped in and out from this place.

BLOOMINGTON , May 115 , 1884 .About
JO now houses are going up at Franklin
this spring.
Geo. Buck , Jr. , ono of the Franklin's
enterprising merchants , in im interview
with your reporter , says that Franklin
booming , and that the town is moro
prosperous and the people moro onthusi-
istic over its future than for yearn before.
It is rumored that Judge Brown will
loon resign his position as County Judge
ind leave the county. Wo hope th'6 ru-
nor is untrue , but should it bo a fact ,
vo want it understood that Bloomington
coplo favor the uppumtinunt of John It
Jart ; , to fill the vacancy. Mr. Hart is
tot only competent , but has many friends
hrough the county , who will verify our
sportlons. If not Brown , let it be
ohn R.
The teachers institute , to bo hold hero of
the near future , promises to bo well
ttondcd and a success. Wo understand
hat our county superintendent has said
hat ; the institute might possibly bo hold
Franklin , but wo think the statement
inreliablo.
Judge Gaslin disposed of the thiry-six to

ivcr a day.
Messrs. nildreth , Robinson and Bar-

The Franklin Echo , in its anxiety to

Under the head of Rood of the order
ono of the visitors said that he had hoard
that the Union Pacific hospital at Den

company would soon have its new hospi

sister of charity should have charge of
the hospital and should receive four dollars

to knock on the tloor with clubs to call
the nurses , and water was left beside the

A gentleman arose nnd moved that a

had boon found. Dr. Wright had been
supported by the men when the surgeon
general wanted to remove him sumo
months ago , and it looked bad for the
same men to find fault. Mr. Knowland
wanted to know if they wore going to
leave the present patients tu the old hos

as the report was to No. 77 Lodge they
had no right to use the report. Thu pre
