The Block , it la undorxtood , is not to bo sold for a yoar. The syndicate is pledged to furnish the company with whatever additional fucdn it may need nt l > per cent per annum. The announcement was followed by n remarkable ri o of thirty-two | x > int9 in Oregon Navigation , which Btdd tip to 110 cash imd 112 regular. Oregon improve ment advanced from 44J to 51 ; Oregon Trans portation from 20J to 23 ; Northern PnciCo from 21 to 23 and preferred from 4 i to 4j. ! ) The doalingg were attended with great excite ment. The general market opened at a frac tional decline on ntatomonta that railroad troubleH at the west had not boon settled , as generally supposed. Tha decline in prices was only i to 1 per cent , but subsequent de velopments in Noithorn Pacific led to a marked change in the market , Btnmlatod ! by the announcement that the old rates of the Utah and Colorado business had baen restored by the Union Pacific and Denver & Kio Grande , and that tha Chicago , Burlington k < Juincy had aread to maintain these rates poudln ? the final settlement of differences on Missouri business uud a general advance of 4 to 2i | per cent occurred.
