Many atill remember that last winter
there was a bloody fracas tit what is
known as the Three Milo louse , in
which two brothers , J. P , and Ncls
Johnson ti ere injured , u i was alleged
that Messrs , I'otor Johnson and Jurgon
, iapaon , Chris , Christianson and 'Theo.
doro Sclnnala wore the assailants. In a
previous trial rho Tnompsons got a vor-
diet for $000 for damagea , but Judge
Recd sot this aside. At this now trial
one of the Thompaono , as plaintiff , got a
verdict of $1,600 , and as the other
bwthcr L e a like C13o pending ot1 the
same evidence , it is probable ho will got
an equal amount.
In what is known as the Parker murder -
dor case , the accused was acquitted , oh.
though , as The Bulletin says , "District
Attorney Conner displayed fine ability in
conducting the prosecution , and made
one of the moat eloquent plats the jury
over heard in Deninon. The history of
the else is that in February , 1880 ,
Charles Dickson , no orphan aged nano
years , wont to live with Mr , and Mrs.
Parker , in Grcet county , and died about
four mouths later. A post morten to-
waled the fact that tine boy was bruised ,
some of his toes cut oil' , and what seemed
the marks of n rope around his neck.
The Parkers wore arrested for murder ,
and 11:0 husband got off with n fine of
$600 for assault , while the wife took a
change of venue to Crawford county.
A short time ago Tnn lint : chronicled
the fact that Harry Eisenhowon , a Deni-
son cloth , had been arrested for loving
stolotl several hulidred dollars worth of
roods and cash from his employer , J. B.
Itomans. IIo , a short time ago , made
his escnpo , but returnodof his own accord.
The court hold that the articles
stolen had been taken at intervals , and
flint at no one time had there been aunt.
ciont taket to constitute grand larceny.
Ho accordingly sentenced him for petit
larceny , thirty days in jail , There scorns
no reason , honevcr , why ho cannot be
brought to the front on each of the al-
lo god items of crookedness , but this
would involve much ox ensondtroublo ,
In striking contrast with this case is
that of Chaes WYlilo , sentenced to tlso
months in the penitentiary for atoaling a
suit of clothos. The Bulletin sarcanti
cally remarks on the case :
"Tills young maul , in need of bettor
clothes , stooped to steal then , and will
atone for sixty days at Ft. Madison -
son and wear the striped horualia
of a convict. Eiscnlioivor , with a good
situation , a kind employer , a respectable
salary , urrounded with the blessin a of
warfriends , society and the church (
deliberately stals-Gd only knows how
much , and will loaf for thirty days in
comfrtable quarters in Contrail Brulrs ,
Such are thinscrutable freaks of jun

Charlie Mills , wino brag arrested for
jumpilig a hotel bill some time ago and
who on being acquitted sued the hotel
propriotbr for $ litl00 datnagos , Jailed to
appear to proseouto. I .
1'un BEE readers will remember the
case of a'young ' man named Holllig ,
found dead in a barn , whore lie and
others were sleeping. The poet mortem
allowed that his skull had been fractured
and neck broken , and four of his corn-
rades were arrested on suspicion of hay
mi murdered him. The grand jury
failed to Indict them and. they were dia
charged. The evidence seemed to substantiate -
stantiate the theory that lie foil from
the hay loft and thus mot death ,
