The , stock market opened weak and
feverish , and declined steadily , with only
a fractional reaction just before 11 o'clock
all the forenoon. After 12:30 the market
was very much quieter and steadier.
There was a docreaae in selling iu the last
Lour , the market waa a little more active ,
and there waa another decline of J to g per
cent on the general list. Central Pacifla
declined J per cent In the last hour to 71j ] .
In connection with this stock Governor
Stanford said to-day , in an interview , that
there was no cause in either the business ,
finananclul condition or prospects of the
Central Pacific railroad for the present
decline in the stock.
Mining stocks were fairly active. Iron
Silver sold at SOO and 35 , Natjo at 18
and 175 , Eureka Consolidated at 325 ,
Horn Silver at 67 and 650 , Sierra Nevada
at 638 and 600 , Yellow Jacket at 426 ,
Union Oonnolidated at 460 , Robinson Con
