THE DAILY BEE-OMAHA MONDAY FEBRUARY 2C
SEEK
health and avoid sickness.
Instead of feeling tired and
worn out , instead of aches
and pains , wouldn't you
rather feel fresh and strong ?
,7
,7You can continue feeling
miserable and good for no
thing , and no one but your
self can find fault , but if you
arc tired of that kind of life ,
you can change it if you
choose.
How ? By getting one

Roots with Meal and Bay.
Natlontl IJvo Slock Journal ,
Oattlo ind hogs will greedily cat
ang&r boots or other roots when on a
full ration of com. They will relish
the roots because they have a ocollng
and sedative effect upon the stomach
aud bowels. Oorn is BO full of carbon
as to have a tendency to pro.luco
feverish state of the Bjstom when
given too laigoly. Boots have the
- same effect npon the system as BUCCU
lent grass. English farmers use roots
largely in the fattening ration , bat
they also food with them rape-cake ,
Unseed cake , etc. , or other nltiogon-
ons food. Roots , like Indian corn ,
are too poor In nitrogen us a olnglo
food for growing young animals or for
fattening. Oorn and roots together
. wonld bo much healthier than corn
! alone , bnt a better fattening ration
wonld be oats aud corn -with roots , or ,
better still , corn' cotton-seed meal or
linseed meal and roots. With a amMl
proportion of linseed meal , say three
pounds , with nine pounds of com
meal , roots would not be so necessity
for health , as the Unseed
meal would keep the bowels
In good condition. Coin , bran
and sugar beets or mangolds would
fatten hogs and keep them healthy
Hogs especially are bonefitted by theme
mo of roots. They are usually fed on
corn alone , which wo believe often in
duces cholera and other diseases. The
roots give them a bulky and cooling
food inst what they so much need.
Bran la a bulky food , anil , fad with

The clover la rich in nitrogen , and thf

THE BAD AND WORTHLESS
Are never imitated or counterfeited.
This Is especially true .of A family
medicine , and It is positive proof that
the remedy imitated is of the highest
- value. As aoon aa it had been tested
and proved by the whole world that
Hop Bitters wan the purest , best and
most valuable family medicine on
earth , many imitations sprung up and
began to steal the notices in which
the press and people of the country
had expreased the merits of H. B.T
and In every way trying to induce suf
fering Invalids to use their stuff in
stead , expecting to make money on
the credit and good name of H. B.
Many others started nostrums put up
in similar style to H. B. , with vari
ously devised names in which the
, word "Hop" or "Hops" were used in
