CHAIN TIIAI < I.
LONDON , January 22. The Iark Lane
Express , in its review of the British grain
, rude of the past week , say's :
Considerable rainfall sufficed to keep
land in n hopeleemly wet and unfavorable
condition. The bulk of farmers. ' dellvoriee
of wheat made bad prices. Trade wae
slow ; good sampleR sometimes better.
Foreign advanced Gj , checking business ;
the supply was unusually light. The
cargo trade was very small ; there were
twelve arrivals and two sales , Futurer
were in good demand at full rates. Floui
was firm ; foreign flour waa better and the
market firmer ; a largo proportion of the
supply is of bad quality. Barley and oats
are unchanged ; fine quality of foreign bar-
* ey waa firm ; oats were in small supply but
-rude waa dull and dlsapaointing. Maize
wai scarce on spot ; prices advanced a third
on each market day , mixed American s ll <
