The stock market advanced during the
first hour and n quarter oi business ami fit
about 11:30 : the general range of priced on
the active list was higher than at any pre

eral course of the market for the lost ten
days has been upward. At about 11:30 :
prices were from 1 to 2J per cent above
the closing figures of last night , Soon
after that time there was a reaction in
Vanderbilt stocks and Union Pacific ,
which caused a fractional decline in all the

the market became dull until m tht last
hour , without notable dealings when prices
became firmer and the market clcnd fi in.
