with u lack of confidence , and
prices declined in a short time from
$101 to 87 cento , but afterwards they
recovered a littlu and closed ( inner ut

course the wildcat excitement prv
vailed , and largo blocks of oil wore
sold to satisfy margins. Transcotiotia
were very heavy and mrfuy thousands
of dollars were lost. As yet ,

In the afternoon the market showed considerable /
sidorable improvement and advanced from

for the day were 4,305,000 barrels. It is
