adjoining room for a few minutes the
detectives returned and exhibited half
a dozen fao-similcs of the signature.
Svory letter and flourish was imitated
so nearly that it was difficult to dis-
ilnguish between the original and the
copies ,

as my apparatus is rather primitive
and defective , I simply placed your
