The First Grand Excursion Trip of the The oomplotlon of the now ntroct car line to Hanscotn Park , by wny of St. Mnry's avenue , haa long been looked forward to with devout wishes for its early consummation , and Fri * day the final strokes wore put on tha work , and nil made ready for busiuoBB. At 10:15 : Saturday n epooial train loft the junction nftlio corner of 15th and Funmin , witk General Marsh and n party of invited guests on board. Among the latter wore lion. A. J. UaiiEcuin , whoso block , it will bo romemborud , IB located right at the junction ; Hon. Chris. Dart- man , of tlio state Ijoard of ngrioul- turo , nnd Hon. John 11. Manchester. The run was made in remarkably fast time , the terminus being reached at lOiUO , This is at present at the northeast corner of the park , where a turn-tablo will bo located. An order was sent in long a o for this turn-table , but the letter containing it ia supposed to have been lost in the Omaha postoffico during ' the disapponriuico of mail generally. Thus the line is compelled to open without it. On the way out the ex cursionists noted particularly the flno way in which the track was ballasted from the foot of St. Mary's a'vonuo to the top of the hill. Tliis portion of the route Captain Marsh has had macadamized , in order to avoid having to tear up the line when the street shall bo paved , as it no doubt will be in nfow years at most. The nppuaranco of the car and the distinguished party created the ut- mcst oxciteinont all aloii ( { the routo. Women ran to tell their neighbors and then with their children climbed up on the fences to got a look at the novel spectacle. Only a brief stop won made at Park Station , the motive power being there transferred to the other end of the car. The party was joined hero unexpectedly by J. H. 13rackon , Esq. The run in was made at a lively rate and at 10:45. : the car , No. 14 , stopped Again at the Waboiih corner after an absence of just half an hour , nnd the manaaor received the warmest congratulations of hio friends upon the event ho Wiv's celebra ting. ' An exciting occurrence took place on the return trip , a the car was pas sing W , J. Council's residence on St. Mary' avenue. Hero It mot the out going car and passed on a siding con structed for the purpose. The eight created 'no small sensation , boiiig about like the mooting of two great steamer * in mid ocoatif and as'tho drivers exchanged quids of tobacco there was scarcely a dry eye' on No. 14. The now line will bo known rw'tho "St. Mary's nnd Park avenue lino. " Beginning with yesterday two care will bo run regular between the city and park , and the number will bo in creased as occasion may demand. NOT OBLITERATED. Another Death From tno Speckled Scourge. It WM believed on Saturday that the small Mr bad about run its * race in this cUy nd'that , no more cases would bo retried. Yesteriiajr-m rn- ing , however , about \ 'fl'o'clock , the city physician was called to the ' brick tenement BO on Loavenworth street , ar Eleventh where Jio found Mr , John son , the father of Anna Johnson , who was removed to the pest house ubnut ton days ago , dead. It was ancortuuied that ho had died of congestion of the brain , brought on by the small pox , which was fully developed , though the postules had not yet broken out 10m his body.
