ish and unsettled , but there was some gen
eral impro ement e < tabli-hed subsequent
ly , wheu it w.is found foreign advices were
not so bad as had b en rep rtcd. At 10:30 :
a. in. the murk t was i ctive and generally
gaining strength , except for the Northern
Pacific pieforred. Dau\ille & Terminal
rose from 199 to 202.
The stock market was dull but strong on
second call \\lth the improvement of the
morning generally maintained except for
Noithern Pacific preferred.
The stock market to-day was active but
irrp ilar , frequently alternating from firm-
p is to depression and vice versa , Some
. jfarge blocks of stock changed lunds and
the market closed generally at J@li per

principal dealings were in Lake Shore ,
