In express stock , Adams , which yesterday

$1,000. The clearings of the associated
.banks were $8,200,000.

Mr. G. F. Sauor was elected direc
tor and Julius Meyer manager. Mr.
Sauor is one of the most accomplished
musicians who have over visited this
city. His musical education was received
coived in Lcipsie , where ho received
the distinguished honor of boinif re
elected to play in the Gowandliun
quartette. Under his experienced
direction three concerts will bo given
in the interval between the end
of this month and Christmas , Meyer's
music hall having been engaged for
the series. The capacity of the hall
being limited , the tickets for the con
certs will bo sold by subscription lists ,
which will bo at once circulated
among our citizens. The subscription
price for the three concerts has been
placed at the low sum of § 2.00 , or
less than seventy cents uconcert. This
should certainly insure a crowded
hall. The first concert will bo given
at the end of the present month.

OMAHA , October 17. "Ham. ; the
miserable wretch ! " This is a unani
mous sentiment of South Tenth street
towards the damphool who is bossing
the grading of Tenth between Pacific
and Pierce streets. The street is being -
ing filled up and the job commenced
properly on the east side of the street.
Although the west side of the street
will not bo reached for probably
a month yet , the champion fool who
is bossing the job , ordered 10 days
ago the sidewalks on the west side ,
the only walk on the street , to bo re
moved , both south and north of Pa
cific streets , which was accordingly
done , and the hundreds of citizens ,
who must thus unnecessarily tramp
through the mud each morninc and
evening , send out curses long and
loud , and have only one sentiment ,
first above stated aud hope , when the
fool killer comes around , looking foi
the biggest fool tg pick off , that he
will certainly get us rid of this parlic.
